Recipe Month


This has been a long standing tradition in our home on Christmas morning. I Usually serve it with fresh fruit and cinnamon buns.




Christmas Morning Time Saver

16 Slices of White bread with the crusts removed.
Thinly sliced Back Bacon or Ham (I use Back Bacon)
Slices of medium sliced sharp Cheddar Cheese
6 Eggs
½ teaspoon of Salt
¼ teaspoon of Pepper
½ to 1 teaspoon of dry Mustard (I use the full teaspoon0
¼ cup of Minced Onion
¼ cup of Green Pepper, finely chopped
1 to 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire Sauce)
A good dash of Tabasco or Red Pepper Sauce (I use Tabasco)
3 cups of Milk
½ cup of Butter
Crushed Corn Flakes.

Arrange eight slices of bread in the bottom of a buttered 13x9-inch baking dish. Cover bread with a single layer of bacon, then cheese, and cover with remaining bread slices, like a sandwich.


Beat eggs with salt and pepper; add mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire, Tabasco and milk. Pour over sandwiches, cover and refrigerate overnight.


In the morning, melt butter and pour over the top. Sprinkle with crushed cornflakes. Bake uncovered in 350 degrees F oven for 1 hour. Allow to stand for ten minutes before serving. (Six servings)
