Mary Travers

Perhaps it is just my mood at present, medically, life sucks big time these days. This morning I read the news about Mary Travers:

Then I found these on You Tube. My kids loved "Puff" Here they are, I watched and cried this morning, as I say likely my mood.

These three brought many smiles to the faces of countless people. I like that.
I especially like that they spoke to what they believed.

I'm sorry that you are feeling so bad right now. That just makes everything else so much harder.

It seems like we are losing so many "iconic" people right now - actors, politicians, musicians. I suppose it's always happening but maybe I'm paying more attention as I get older.

I hope you feel better soon! :)

(I sent you an email)

Love the hugs, and thanks for the email:))

Medically, I will adjust, feeling sorry for myself won't help.

It does seem that a number of those "iconic" people are of my era.

Sighed a little sigh over this news :( I know Mary Travers was 72 and lived a fuller and longer life than most of us can ever dream of, but still.... ::sniff::

I love PPM; I was about 20 years too late for their heyday, but still sang along to almost all of their albums, and squeed when they did their 25th anniversary concert on PBS. It hadn't occurred to me there would be Youtube clips of it. Thanks so much for posting these!

And I'll have to remember to show my kids this clip, because I was trying to remember it once when we were discussing how people had thought all sorts of weird thing about Puff's lyrics, but couldn't remember exactly what Peter sang :)

I know how that "sigh" felt:))

It was a lovely concert. "Puff" was one of our camping songs when the kids were little.

There are a number of their clips on You Tube, including some of the early ones:)

Ah Girl! *sigh* Took me all day to get it together to watch these. i sit here with tears of sdness and good memory running down my cheeks. Peter Paul and Mary have always been a part of my life. When I was younger I wanted to be her. I will always regret never having seen them in concert.

I think there are a number of us sighing to-day:)

The memories are good ones and that is great. She stood up for what she believed in, quietly but firmly. I liked that.

I loved Puff as a child, too.

This is truly sad news. :( Thank you for having a little celebration of Ms. Travers' life by posting these wonderful songs! I love that genre of music.

I hope you felt better as the day wore on.

"Puff" was such a simple song, yet stood the test of time. It was one of the many, to get us through car trips and camping with young ones.

I am fine, just medical stuff, got a bit much to-day. As my son says "no worries":))

Sorry! having a "feeling sorry for me" moment!! which doesn't help in the long run.

I am at present trying to get used to my shiny new laptop!!

I grew up loving the folk music of the early sixties. Peter, Paul and Mary will always hold a special place in my heart. You don't get music like that anymore.

I'm sorry that medically your life is sucking :(

Memories associated with music are such a mixed bag, usually good, sometimes with sadness:))

Most days, I just don't get into the health issues, it is what it is. To-day a few hours of "what the f..." not really a great idea to post at that point!!

Somehow it slipped my attention that Mary is gone. That´s really sad.

I love their music so much. Their voices are complementing each other so perfectly. I always get goosebumps listening to them.

Lots of memories associated with the music for me.

There was some publicity here when she died, but I don't know how much there was overseas.
