Just Visiting

We have had an increase in visitors lately!! I am rarely quick enough with the camera but this time our neighbour was. This was one of the largest bears to visit but his left front paw was injured.

Holy crap, bear! ;-p

Our neighbors have had one at their birdfeeder, strangely enough. They called the Game Commission, who told them, "Stop filling up the bird feeder every day and the bear will Go Away."

Turns out they were right.

Do you get lots of bears?

"Do you get lots of bears?" More each year. We live high on a mountainside, surrounded by another two mountains covered by trees. Over the years development has encroached more on the territory of animals such as bears.
We also get lots of raccoons, two I have had in my kitchen, Coyotes and for the first year we now have Cougars.

Definitely no bird feeders and we try to remove fruit from the trees quickly. There is a $500 fine for leaving your garbage out. Once a bear tastes human food it is very difficult to relocate him successfully.

In our schools along with earthquake drill our kids have "bear drill":)

This is so unreal, you see a bear walking down the street, someone else might be afraid of finding a gator in their garden... well, I´ll tell you. I was bitten by an earwig the other day, and we got bees, lots of bees. Bears are cute but I think I´m doing fine without a wildlife like that near my garden!

"someone else might be afraid of finding a gator"
No gators!

Not fun to be bitten by anything.:) and yes, we also have lots of bees. I don't mind them. They say they are a sign of a healthy garden along with worms----I am surprised there are any this year!!

Wow! Is he a baby or full grown? So cute! Poor wee thing.

That's something for Scotland, you don't see too many - well, any - bears walking down the street.

Okay you have bears visiting...Does Goldilocks live in your neighbourhood?

I saw a squirrel the other day, it's about as wild as it gets around here.
So cool. ;)
